Manufacturing Excellence
At Tesnes, we take pride in our use of high-quality stainless steel for our instruments. Although the term "stainless" isn’t entirely accurate, stainless steel is exceptionally resistant to corrosion and rust. Its strength and longevity stem from its ability to form a protective "passivation" layer.
Distinguishing Stainless Steel from Carbon Steel
Unlike carbon steel, which rusts quickly when exposed to moisture and air, stainless steel is enriched with chromium. This crucial element enables the formation of a passive chromium oxide layer on the surface. This protective layer prevents further corrosion and shields the metal from internal degradation. The effectiveness of this passivation depends on the chromium content, ensuring that our instruments offer enduring reliability and durability.
